North and West Zone Squad.

Last season was the first for me in zone squad and I gained a lot of experience, and in the Zone Champs at the end of the season I finished 1st in the 6.8m class at Blithfield near Birmingham.
I have been training very hard this winter hardly a weekend spare and hoping to do better this year however this wont be so easy as I have moved up to the 7.8m class. The competition is much harder and it will be a new challenge.
My main ambition for this season is to be selected for the National Junior Squad and go to an international event as this will be my last year of zone squad.
At the first event at Whitwell on the 11th March I finished first in the techno fleet and so this was a promising start to the season.
The weekend after is the first of 4 weekends of zone training at Chasewater, Rutland, Carsington and WestKirby.

Weymouth Easter Training Camp

 With mixed conditions on all 3 days I learnt a lot in the training at the recent camp at Weymouth this holiday. There was racing at the end if each day in 6knots on the first day and 14-18 on the other two. The racing was tight and everyone was on form following the all days training and I managed to come in 3^rd at the end of the week. So I was well chuffed!

Marazion Cornwall

Everyone made the long trip down to marazion to find no wind which everyone was frustrated by. Days were spent just sitting on the beach and playing football. Wind did finally come however on the last day and by the end of the 4 days we completed 7 races. I placed 6^th in this which was good but a few 360s on the start line didn’t help and I felt I could have done better. However a great event.
